Implementing
Curriculum:
Planning, Assessment & Evaluation was
compiled with the intention of helping
educators pull together the many elements of
these interconnected areas into a coherent
whole. Making connections between planning,
assessment & evaluation, and reporting, will
provide you, the teacher, and your students,
with a clearer vision of the educational
year. Cohesive planning will provide clear
direction as you journey with your class
towards the prescribed learning destination.
With an overall vision in place, all the
monthly, weekly and daily teaching
requirements become the logical steps to
fulfilling this vision, rather than
stressful "additions" to your teaching load.
A first time
user of the Implementing Curriculum is
encouraged to look at the sections of the
document as a whole, in order to understand
the overall connections. Contents pages at
the start of each of the three following
sections will help you to locate specific
information.
Section A,
Curriculum Planning, outlines the
approach to planning.
Section B,
Assessment and Evaluation,
forms the basis for an approach, which
emphasizes assessment-driven planning and
instruction.
Both Sections A
and B are currently under review.
If you have specific questions or need
clarification on any aspect of planning,
assessment or reporting, please contact the
Superintendent's Office.
